A new city, on old ground
St. George incorporated only recently, and most people here still say Baton Rouge when somebody asks where they live. The houses did not change when the city line did. What you have is one of the older parts of the parish and some of its newest construction sitting on the same street, which is why two neighbors can call about the same smell for completely different reasons.

What is the difference between mold removal and mold remediation?
In everyday use people mean the same thing. Technically, remediation is the whole job — finding the moisture source, containing the area, removing what has to go, treating what stays, and making sure it does not come back. How long does it take?
A small contained job is often a single day. Larger jobs run several days depending on how much material has to be removed and how long the affected areas take to dry. We give you a timeframe with your quote rather than after we start.
Should I use bleach on mold?
No. Do not use bleach on mold. It is the most common piece of bad advice on the internet and it makes the situation worse more often than it helps.
Bleach is mostly water. On drywall, wood, trim, insulation or anything else porous, the liquid soaks straight into the material and feeds the growth underneath while the surface looks cleaned. You end up with mold that is deeper, wetter and harder to get to than before you started — and now it is hidden.
